Beaulieu-sur-Loire - France

Beaulieu-sur-Loire is a tiny village on a slope overlooking the Loire Valley and its canal, 106 miles southeast of Paris. Dating back to 406, this village of picturesque half-timbered houses has kept its medieval layout. The Chateau of Assay is a medieval fortress from the 15th century. The Roman knave and bell tower of the St-Etienne church were erected in the 11th century while the town hall was the meeting place of the Bourges Cathedral Canons, landlords of this parish before the French Revolution.
