Riesa - Germany
Riesa is a town in Saxony in eastern Germany located on the River Elbe, approx. 40 km northwest of Dresden. In the city of Riesa there is a 25m tall iron sculpture of an oak trunk, named "Elbquelle", by Jörg Immendorff, and two famous churches. The minster St. Marien was built in 1261 as an addition to the Benedictine Abbey. The Trinitatis Church was constructed later, completed in the year 1897. From here you can also explore infamous Colditz Castle.
