Kribi - Cameroon
The coastal town of Kribi lies on the Gulf of Guinea at the mouth of the Kienke River in Cameroon, West Africa. It is approximately 150 km (93 miles), by road, south of Douala, the largest city in Cameroon. Cameroon's people include ancient tribal kingdoms, Muslim pastoralists and forest-dwelling pygmies. You can take traditional canoes on the Lobe River to visit a pygmy settlement. Or visit the waterfalls of Lobe which represent a strong basis of the symbolic beliefs of the Batanga, Maabi and Pygmee peoples that live in the area and who associate the falls with various cultural rites.
