Isla San Esteban - Mexico

Isla San Esteban is an island in the Sea of Cortez with volcanic slopes and cliffs located 12-miles southeast of the large Isla Tiburon (the only inhabited island in the region). Although the perimeter is mountainous, one central valley is thick with cactus. It is also populated with many reptiles, including the endemic Pinto Chuckwalla-a fat, harmless desert lizard and Desert Iguana, which like to sun themselves atop the 20-foot-high cacti as well as various species of desert birds.
