Rully is a town full of charming old houses, a fairytale castle and a sleepy main square It is located in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne in eastern France close to the Canal du Centre. The area is known for its red and white wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes but the town's producers concentrate on Cremant de Bourgogne, asparkling wine made using the Method Champenoise. Nearby is Chateau Rully, a family residence set in the heart of a vineyard. The Chateau was built as a medieval fortress and has been in the same family since the 12th century.
